Hello, friends. Welcome to Because He is Faithful. I'm your host, Dave Leighton. Each week we take a few moments to reflect on different blessings from the unchanging faithfulness of our Lord. Thank you for joining me as we discover fresh encouragement from the one who is always faithful. Today's episode is inspired by themes from my devotional book Because He is Faithful. Through fifty two weekly devotionals, the book reminds us that God's faithfulness remains constant through every challenge and every blessing. You can find Because He is Faithful on Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats. Well this is the inaugural episode of Because He is Faithful. This podcast grew out of a simple conviction. Throughout Scripture we repeatedly encounter the faithfulness of God. His faithfulness is a reality we experience. It is the foundation of our hope and the anchor for our souls and the assurance that God keeps every promise he makes. In each episode we will explore one promise of God and discover how His faithfulness impacts our daily lives. Whether you are facing uncertainty, carrying a burden, or maybe celebrating a victory, or simply seeking encouragement for the journey ahead, I pray you will be reminded that through everything God remains faithful. Today we begin with one of the most comforting promises found in Scripture. It is a promise that every one of us needs because every one of us has experienced failure. Our theme for this first episode is because He is faithful to forgive. I want to call your attention to one of my favorite passages because it's filled with hope. It's from 1 John chapter 1, verse 9. John says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Few promises bring more hope than God's promise of forgiveness. Every person has experienced failure, regret, and painful consequences of sin. Left unresolved, guilt can weigh heavily upon our hearts and affect our relationship with God and with others. John reminds us that forgiveness rests upon the faithfulness of God. He says God is faithful and just to forgive. Forgiveness is rooted in God's character. He keeps his promise, and through Jesus Christ, He has provided a way our sins can be forgiven and our fellowship with Him restored. This promise invites us to come before God with honesty and humility. Confession is simply agreeing with God about our sin and turning our hearts toward Him. And when we do, He responds with mercy and cleansing. Many struggle with Many struggle to move beyond past mistakes. They replay old failures and carry burdens God is willing to remove. Yet God's promise reminds us that His grace is greater than our shortcomings. His forgiveness allows us to move forward with hope and renewed purpose. Because God is faithful to forgive, we can approach Him confidently. We can trust that He desires restoration and fellowship with His children. Today I invite you to stop for a few moments and thank God for His promise to forgive. Also ask for greater trust in His mercy as we seek to walk in grace each day. Well thank you for listening to Because He is Faithful. If this podcast has encouraged you, please share it with others. I also invite you to subscribe so that you are up to date with new episodes each week. Until next time, may God's faithfulness strengthen your heart, guide your steps, and fill you with hope. And remember, in all things, we give God the glory.
